The following pages contain photographs of many of the dogs rescued from the puppy mills of Lancaster, Berks, and Chester Counties in Pennsylvania. Like many rescued puppy mill dogs, they required extensive veterinary care, socialization, and when the time comes, very special homes. MLAR is unable to ship or send these dogs out of state and would instead prefer to place them with families in our area so we can provide necessary follow-ups and support to their new guardians through our Puppy Mill Support Group (Over The Mill) and our "Shy Dog Class". There are puppy mill rescues in your state, we suggest that you reach out and adopt one of their dogs, or one of the dogs or cats (or other companion animals) that are waiting in your local shelter. Caring for any pet requires time, money, and a lifelong commitment. Please consider this before adopting. The benefits are great, but so is the responsibility.
